1. SEEDS SELECTION

An adequate seed selection is a key point to the success of the tomato crop.

Goal: to produce a tomato with a good yield, excellent quality and good adaptability to the local weather conditions.

The Tomato can have different size, shape, viscosity and resistance. Sugal is testing every year more than 150 varieties in several trial fields, covering the total production area, to be able to evaluate: the production variety (quantity of fruits, disease resistance and fertilization), the growth the quality of the fruit.
 

After, these fruits are tested in a pilot plant to test the industrial ability and the parameters as: color, flavor, brix degree and fruit resistance.
